Privacy Policy
Last updated August 23, 2026
This policy explains what BentoBid collects and why. The service is operated by Varshith V Hegde in India.
What we collect
- Listing data — URL, description, category, bid amount, and optional display name.
- Contact — email address for receipts, eviction notices, and support replies.
- Payment data — processed by our payment provider. We receive payment status and identifiers, not your full card number.
- Usage — listing clicks, bid history, a session id stored in your browser, live presence while the tab is open, and an all-time visitor count.
How we use it
We use this data to run the trays, take bids, show public listings, count live viewers and visitors, prevent abuse, and reply when you email support. We do not sell your personal information.
What is public
Anyone can see a live listing’s URL, description, current bid, rank, and click count. Your email and payment details are not shown on the tray.
Cookies and local storage
We store a random session id in localStorage so we can count unique visitors and show how many people are live. We do not use that id for advertising. The site may also use cookies required by the host or payment checkout.
Processors
Hosting, the realtime database (Convex), payment processing, and email delivery may handle data on our behalf. They only get what is needed to run those services.
How long we keep it
Active listings stay until they are evicted or we remove them. Bid history, click counts, and visitor totals are kept so the leaderboard and site stats stay accurate. You can ask us to delete personal data that is not required to keep a paid listing honest (for example, an email on a bid you already placed).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal data, or object to certain processing. Email varshithvh@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
BentoBid is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page.
